Old Trail; January 9

With temperatures in the low 40s with a brisk wind, it was quite chilly. Most of the smaller birds were hunkered down, but I was able to log 25 avian species.

A squirrel caught me watching it poke its nose in a tree cavity, and then scampered up the tree, hid, and then looked to see if I was still watching it.

Old Trail; January 10

It was a bit warmer today, and much less wind. But that meant a lot more people were out on the trails spooking the birds. I ended up with 28 avian species today, and a two-day list of 32 avian species.
