We had spent the night in Green Valley, and left early in the morning for Florida and Madera Canyons. I was eager to go birding, as Walt had seen Hermit and Townsend's Warblers two weeks earlier in Madera Canyon, and a Rufous-capped Warbler was frequently reported in Florida Canyon when I was there in 2014, but I didn't see it then. We stopped a few times for birds as we drove to Madera Canyon.

Western Kingbird
We stopped first in Madera Canyon where Walt had seen the warblers, but it was only slightly "birdy." But I did get good photos of male and female Townsend's Warblers.
