It's been a weird weather week. All of last week, there was high humidity and temperatures in the upper 90s. Strong storms moved through the area on Friday and Saturday. We lost power for more than two hours on Friday, and more than an hour on Saturday, when more than an inch of rain fell in less than an hour. I went out on Sunday morning to gat a couple of photos. The second floor construction of a medical building in front of the lodge had been blown down.

With tropical storms moving up the east coast, the forecast is for rain all week long. There was a break in the rain this morning, so I went out to see what birds might have been blown here by the storms. It was completely overcast, warm, and very muggy. There were lots of trees down, including some that blocked the trails. A large canopy structure was in one of the ponds, and a trampoline was along one of the trails.

I ended up with 22 avian species. The birds seemed a bit bewildered. Some of the birds were in places where I had not seen them in Old Trail - perhaps their normal foraging areas were messed up, and other birds might have been here for the first time. I saw a pair of sandpipers - moslt likely Spotted Sandpipers, but I only ot a quick look at them.
