There was heavy cloud cover this morning. I got a late start and didn't get to the parkway until 10:00. It was quite breezy, and there was a lot of traffic on the parkway, so I did most of my birding along Route 610 between mm. 2 and 4 of the parkway. The dense trees along 610 stopped a lot of the wind, but it was a lot darker along this road. I located three small clusters of birds along 610. By 11:45, even 610 got more traffic than I wanted to avoid, so I left with 22 avian species on my morning list, including 7 warbler species.

I only got quick looks at two of the warblers, but am fairly confident of the species ID.

The jewel weed along 610 is now blooming, and there were lots of migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbirds making their annual stop along 610 to fuel up.
