I haven't done a lot of birding since returning from Hilton Head, and went out this morning under mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-40s. I ended up with 29 avian species (7 heard only). Both Red-shouldered Hawks were in Western Park. Although a few female Red-winged Blackbirds spend the winter in Western Park, today was the first time this year that male Red-winged Blackbirds were out and singing for mates. Perhaps spring will soon be here.
