Blue Ridge Parkway, VA 9/4/2022

I did some birding this morning up on Route 610 between mm. 2 and mm. 4 of the parkway. Other than lots of hummingbirds, it was fairly quiet.

I saw one Hooded Warbler, heard another one and a Pine Warbler, and heard a Scarlet Tanager.

I ran into a birding pal of mine, Huck Hutches, up there. At one point, Huck saw a "Chicken of the Woods" wild mushroom that he picked to take home to eat, and asked me if I wanted some of it. I declined, but took a photo of him with the mushroom just in case he had misidentified it as an edible mushroom. I said I would put up a 16x20 photo at his funeral :-).
