The weather was great this week with temperatures in the 50s and 60s, and I hiked Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Unfortunately, there wasn't as much avian activity here in Old Trail as last week. I didn't see a single Canada Goose or Black Vulture, and the only ducks were a pair of Mallards. But I ended up with a three day total of 33 avian species, including an uncommon species and a few good photos.

I hadn't seen a Fox Sparrow for a couple of years, and seeing one this week was a treat.

The Red-shouldered Hawks were active each morning.

I saw a Cooper's Hawk, and from a distance thought it might have been a Sharp-shinned as it looked very small. But closer views and photos confirmed it as a Cooper's, and probably a male.

The best photos this week were of a Golden-crowned Kinglet.

I saw a male House Finch near the SE corner of the golf course pond, and it looks like it has avian conjunctivitis. I will post info about cleaning bird feeders on the Old Trail Facebook pages.
